TORONTO, ON, October 2, 2019 – Today, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), Scotiabank and LG Electronics Canada (LG) unveiled the latest enhancements to Scotiabank Arena, elevating the fan experience inside and outside the venue. The most prominent improvements include the new and larger LED screen and Scotiabank Arena signage in Maple Leaf Square, which helps continue the tradition of an unparalleled outdoor viewing experience for fans.
“The enhancements to our venue with the support and investment of our partners, Scotiabank and LG, allows us to provide the very best in facilities and a world-class experience for our fans in every way,” said Nick Eaves, Chief Venues and Operations Officer at MLSE. “After an incredible Toronto Raptors Championship season, these enhancements will enable us to create bigger and better experiences for our fans watching inside the venue, and outside in Maple Leaf Square. We want to continue to make this area a vital part of Toronto’s vibrant sports and entertainment scene.”
All of Scotiabank Arena is undergoing improvements – from the signage outside to the experience a fan has inside. The arena now has new LED digital signage that will have the ability to change colour according to the events happening in the building as well as the city. The LED screen that fans watch during the playoffs outside in Maple Leaf Square is now 37 per cent larger at 62 feet by 35 feet and boasts technology that provides rich, saturated colours and a high level of brightness for optimal viewing throughout the game. The new screen also marks the renewed partnership between LG and MLSE and is made possible in part through Scotiabank’s investment in Scotiabank Arena.
“From the time that the Scotiabank Arena deal was announced, until now, Scotiabank has maintained our commitment to improve the fan experience through continued enhancements to the building and through our strong relationship with MLSE,” said Clinton Braganza, Chief Marketing Officer, Scotiabank. “From the larger screen in Maple Leaf Square, to new additions to the Scotia Perks program, we continue to look for new ways to make Scotiabank Arena one of the best entertainment venues in the world. We’re excited for what the 2019-20 hockey and basketball seasons have in store and look forward to celebrating along with the fans under the new transformational Scotiabank Arena signage in the Square.”
“The Leafs and Raptors fans are passionate, and the atmosphere they create is unlike anything else in the city. They deserve the best possible experience when cheering on their teams at Scotiabank Arena” said Jaeseung Kim, president, and CEO at LG Electronics Canada. “We are excited to bring the fans this new viewing experience and build on the energy that comes from watching games at Maple Leaf Square.”
The Scotia Perks program has also expanded this year to include exclusive benefits for both Scotiabank and Tangerine customers at Maple Leafs and Raptors games. Scotia Perks members will now have access to:
- Exclusive ticket window beginning 48 hours in advance of each Leafs and Raptors home game
- 10 per cent off food at all concession locations
- 10 per cent off at Real Sports Apparel
- Real Sports Bar & Grill and ScotiaClub dining reservations
