Fans are now able to secure a spot at anew drive-in venue to enjoy the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors playoff games as well as live concerts.
Today, MLSE and Live Nation, together with OLG, announced ‘OLG Play Stage,’ a new drive-in entertainment venue where fans can park and watch Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors playoff games as well as live concerts. The venue is located alongside the Toronto waterfront on the east side of Ontario Place in Lot 2. Upcoming concert dates will be announced in the coming weeks and will include performances from Walk off The Earth, Sam Roberts Band and many more. The debut concert will feature The Reklaws on August 13 with tickets on sale August 7 at 10 a.m. and American Express Front Of The Line® pre-sale on August 6 at 10 a.m.
“As our city proudly hosts the NHL Eastern Conference teams during the NHL Stanley Cup Qualifiers and NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, we are looking forward to offering fans a new way of watching our favourite Toronto teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors, live on screen,” said Shannon Hosford, Chief Marketing Officer, MLSE. “These last few months have been a challenge for everyone but with the return of sports, OLG Play Stage, with the city’s waterfront as an amazing backdrop, will give fans a way to enjoy and experience the excitement of Leafs and Raptors playoff games once again.”
‘OLG Play Stage’ allows fans to safely come together, while remaining in their vehicles, to cheer on our beloved Toronto teams as they compete in the NHL Stanley Cup Qualifiers and the NBA Playoffs. The game broadcasts are brought to fans by TSN and Sportsnet. Each event will include hosts and special guests on the main stage as well as programming before the game or concert. Fans will also have a chance to win prizes including merchandise from Real Sports Apparel, admission to an upcoming event courtesy of OLG and much more.
“We are excited to bring live music back to the fans with our partners at MLSE,” said Erik Hoffman, President, Live Nation Toronto. “Fans will get a completely unique outdoor concert series that allows fans to enjoy live music again, while socially distanced. We have an incredible line-up scheduled for this summer, allowing fans a re-imagined live music experience.”
“Knowing that sports and music are important passion points for our lottery players, we’re thrilled to partner with MLSE and Live Nation to present OLG Play Stage, inviting fans to get closer to their favourite teams and artists in a new, engaging and safe way,” said Randy Weyersberg, OLG Vice-President of Brand and Marketing. “Although today’s social landscape has changed, OLG continues to offer Ontarians unique and entertaining opportunities to celebrate, cheer and play.”
Vehicle admission for a game is a minimum donation of $25 that goes towards MLSE Foundation and will be available on a game-by-game basis, while tickets for concerts will be available per event basis. Both games and concert tickets are available on OLGPlayStage.com. In addition, RS (Real Sports) and Real Sports Apparel will have special promotions and offers for those looking to purchase food and apparel with their online tickets to be delivered right to their vehicle on site. American Express® Cardmembers can also enjoy Front Of The Line® presale access to the upcoming concerts via Ticketmaster.ca/americanexpress.
For the health and safety of our fans and in accordance of the Government of Ontario and City of Toronto, which is currently in Stage Three of reopening, no fan is permitted to leave their vehicle with the exception of the use of the restroom facilities located on the property. Masks or appropriate face coverings must be worn outside of the vehicle and fans must abide by all social distancing guidelines.
