MARLIES DROP THE PUCK ON FIVE-GAME AIR CANADA CENTRE SERIES

The Toronto Marlies are set to make the trip east on Lakeshore Boulevard to play their first Air Canada Centre Series game on Saturday, November 28. Saturday afternoon’s game is the first of the five-game series the Marlies will play this year in the home of their NHL affiliate, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Toronto Marlies Air Canada Centre Series will highlight the AHL team, first in their division with a 14-3-1 record, while giving hockey fans the opportunity to watch Leafs prospects take the ice in an NHL arena. The Marlies Air Canada Centre Series begins with a double-header that sees the team take on the St. John’s Ice Caps prior to the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Washington Capitals later that evening.

“We’re all encouraged by the Marlies’ start to this season and by the excellent fan support we received last weekend at Ricoh Coliseum,” said Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant General Manager Kyle Dubas. “Playing some key games at Air Canada Centre is a great chance for more hockey fans to enjoy what the Marlies have to offer as we return to the great tradition of the Marlies/Leafs doubleheaders. The Holiday Bash and Teddy Bear Toss on the December 6 are also a great example of how the Marlies can come together with our fans to give back to the community in Toronto.”

The Toronto Marlies Air Canada Centre Series is in association with Carter’s I OshKosh, baby and children’s clothing and accessories retailer, stretches from November to March, giving fans ample opportunities to watch the team while enjoying a family-friendly environment in the heart of downtown Toronto. Each of the five weekend games in the Series will be brought to life by Club Maple Leafs, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Marlies new kids’ club and mobile application.
