The holiday season is the time of year when we take a step back to take stock of the things we have to be thankful for in our lives. Recognizing how fortunate we are, it’s also the time of year when giving back can make a major difference in the lives of those less fortunate than us.

With this in mind, MLSE, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Raptors helped the Salvation Army launch their annual holiday season kettle bell campaign and Toy Mountain toy drive on Friday, November 30th. With the Maple Leafs Mobile Fan Zone in tow and full of toys, Carlton the Bear, Duke the Dog, and Leaf Alum Darcy Tucker joined the Salvation Army at Dundas Square on Friday night for their annual Christmas In The Square event. In total, MLSE donated more than 300 toys to Salvation Army at the event and will continue to support the Toy Mountain toy drive through the collection of toys at the gates during all Raptors games in December.

A little later that evening, Jose Calderon helped the Salvation Army launch their kettle bell campaign at centre court prior to tip off of the Raptors/Suns game, with a $1,000 donation to the pot!
