Another Movember is in the books, and while the moustaches may be gone, the impact and awareness that Team MOple Leaf Sports and Entertainment generated throughout the month will live on!
Thanks to the passion and dedication of Team MOple Leaf Sport and Entertainments’ 289 member team (made up of MLSE employees and our fans!), we were able to generate more than $88,000 in support of men’s health this year. To put this into perspective, that’s more funds raised than the entire countries of Belgium, Sweden and Austria. Not bad for a 289 person team!
Equally as important as the funds we raised however, are the millions of people that we reached with the Movember message. From Toronto Raptors and Toronto Marlies Movember Awareness nights, to the Raptors ‘Mo of the Night’ broadcast promotion, to Air Canada Centre MOpen Skates, to the PSAs on Leafs TV, NBA TV Canada and GOLTV, this year’s MOple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Movember message was dispersed to more than 3.5 million people.
A popular new feature of this year’s campaign was the Wendel Clark Movember silhouette t-shirt which was sold exclusively at Real Sports Apparel. Close to 250 t-shirts were sold and added a total of $5,800 to the overall fundraising efforts.
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment would like to thank and congratulate everyone that supported and participated in the Team MOple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Movember campaign this year. In total over the past two Movembers, we have come together to help raise more than $200,000 in support of men’s health; a true reflection of the generosity of the community in which we live, work, and play.
